About Our Cooperative
Founded in 2010 with 4 participants having over 20 years of experience in growing water melons and other products. In 2021, Microfruits SRL joined up as the 5th participant, bringing in knowledge about the retail market, marketing, sales and physical distribution. All participants have an equal share in the cooperation.
We have 230 hectares of arable land in the neighborhood of lake Fundata in Ialomita region. We also have all the necessary equipment and utilities to cultivate, harvest and store our products with the prospect of their continuous modernization.
Goals
The main goal is to produce more good quality and organic food like vegetables, fruits and cereals in the home country and to make food supply chain less reliable on imports from other countries.
Building greenhouses is the next goal in order to be able to produce all year around. We want to achieve that in a way that energy input is based on green solutions and waste can be reused.
Also, another goal is expanding our business by reinvesting the profit, operating the best way the arable land available and heating, cooling, watering and nutrition green based to cultivate products with qualities that the market expects.
Anual average production of melons
Of all the products we grow, watermelons account for the most. Based on a long experience in time and many field experiments, we have managed to produce a large quantity in this category. Our total average is 4000 tones, but this number differs based on weather conditions and other factors.

Collecting data is important for us to see the progress of our business. In agriculture every year comes with different challenges based on weather, economy, society and other factors that can have a direct impact to our production. Sometimes is hard to predict part of them. However, these are risks that we take into account and strive to prevent.
